JWILLIAMS STAFFING AWARDED WITH TWO PRESTIGIOUS HONORS
AT THE 35TH ANNUAL NORTH STATE BIA MAME AWARDS EVENT
SAN RAMON, California (October 2009) – Receiving not one, but two distinctive awards for services, JWilliamsStaffing was honored with both Business Associate Partner of the Year, and Michelle Shepherd with JWilliamsStaffing was awarded Employee of the Year at the 35th Annual North State BIA MAME Awards Event held Friday, September 25, 2009 at Whitney Ranch in Rocklin.
John Orr, president & CEO of the North State Building Industry Association (BIA) said, “This event is a wonderful opportunity for our industry to celebrate its accomplishments and recognize excellence in the people that truly make things happen and help us sustain. These awards represent the best and brightest spirit within our industry.”
Jeanne Pearl, vice president for the Northern California division of JWilliamsStaffing, was thrilled to accept the Business Associate Partner of the Year award and exclaimed, “It is truly an honor to accept this prestigious award. Although this has been a difficult year for the industry we all care so much about, it is our belief that exhibiting leadership and excellence attracts new partnerships and retains the best talent in and to our great industry. We are grateful to be recognized for our abilities in offering legendary experiences to our business partners by providing them with passionate, knowledgeable and engaging personnel and staffing.”
Michelle Shepherd, regional manager for JWilliamsStaffing Sacramento, Central Valley & Reno, was elected to the North State Associates Council Board of Directors for the BIA last November and is currently serving a two-year term. Some of the successful events that she has helped plan over the year include the Business Exchange lunch and Hot August Nights. She also volunteers on the membership outreach committee and membership drive committee, as well as serving on the Home Aid committee. Michelle added, “I am most proud that the BIA asked me to be the new facilitator for the Members in Transition (MIT) group. MIT’s are seasoned yet displaced building industry professionals who take part in monthly workshops to help them in their job searches. Each month various topics are covered and we share job leads together as a group. It’s a great honor to work with this amazing group of veterans. I would challenge others in our industry to find a way and make a positive difference too.”
