Ranie Hunter has been promoted to executive vice president of The Otay Ranch Company, developer of the 5,300-acre planned community in South County. An accomplished community development executive, Hunter brings to this senior management position nearly 20 years of experience in planning, design, entitlement processing and environmental review. Her efforts have contributed to the approval of more than 9,000 homes, schools, parks, open space and commercial/mixed use developments in Otay Ranch. For the past eight years, she has served as vice president of the company.
“This much deserved promotion attests to Ranie’s 18 years of outstanding service and recognizes her increasing responsibility and authority. Ranie’s broad experience in community development is crucial as we move ahead on the development of future villages within Otay Ranch,” said Jim Baldwin, principal in The Otay Ranch Company.
A longtime Chula Vista community member, Hunter has been active on the board of the South Bay Family YMCA for many years and served as board chair for two terms. In recognition of her service, Hunter was honored with the “Golden Triangle of Distinguished Service Award” from the YMCA of San Diego County in 2004. The annual award is the highest honor bestowed upon YMCA volunteer leaders in the county.
Currently, Hunter serves on the board of directors of the Friends of Chula Vista Parks and Recreation. She has also served on the San Diego Building Industry Association’s South County Legislative Committee. Hunter is a graduate of San Diego State University.
