CARLSBAD, Calif. (Jan. 22, 2010) – Sales information centers are now open for three Carlsbad new home neighborhoods at The Foothills, the first master-planned community in the coastal Southern California city since 2006.
Located off Cannon Road, just east of El Camino Real, and about three miles from the ocean, the three new Carlsbad neighborhoods are being built by Brookfield Homes, D.R. Horton and William Lyon Homes. For additional information on The Foothills at Carlsbad, visit www.FoothillsCarlsbad.com.
With model homes expected to open Feb. 20, Blossom Grove by William Lyon Homes is the first new home neighborhood at The Foothills. The 110 single-family Carlsbad homes will have approximately 1,992 to 2,840 square feet, three to five bedrooms, and two to three bathrooms. These one- and two-story homes will feature indoor/outdoor living areas, great rooms and spectacular kitchens. Four floor plans will be available, with pricing expected to start from the low $600,000s.
According to San Diego home builder Brookfield Homes, Rockrose at The Foothills will offer 101 eco-savvy new homes in Carlsbad ranging from approximately 2,116 to 3,167 square feet. Designed with a focus on energy efficiency, water conservation and many environmentally friendly materials, every home being built at Rockrose at The Foothills will exceed California’s standards for energy efficiency by at least 35 percent. The single-family detached Carlsbad homes will have three to four bedrooms and two to 4.5 bathrooms. Rockrose pricing is anticipated to start in the low $600,000s.
Alcéa at The Foothills by D.R Horton features 84 detached condominium homes with approximately 1,747 to 2,052 square feet, three to four bedrooms and 2.5 to three bathrooms. Pricing is expected to start in the low $500,000s. Alcéa model home construction is scheduled to be started in late January, and a grand opening is planned for late March. Extraordinary features for these homes include: gourmet solid granite slabs in the kitchen, private yards and functional space-efficient floor plans.
When completed, The Foothills will have 404 homes on 157 acres. A 2.6-acre residents-only Swim Club will include a resort-style swimming pool, children’s pool, picnic area with barbecues, paddle courts and a grass playing area.
Along with recreation center and neighborhood construction, Brookfield Homes will build several neighborhood pocket parks and a trail system at The Foothills. Across the street from the community, Carlsbad Unified School District plans to break ground in 2010 on a new high school campus that would open in fall 2013. Future phases are expected to include a fourth single family new home neighborhood, a commercial office building and an RV storage facility.
Nearly half of the property at The Foothills master planned community in Carlsbad will be preserved as permanent open space, providing a key connection to the habitat management program for the City.
