Mattamy Homes Memorial Blood Drive to Honor Sales Representative Who Died of Lymphoma

BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Mattamy Homes will sponsor a blood drive through Memorial Blood Centers’ Bloodmobile on Friday Sept. 12 at the homebuilder’s Minnesota division headquarters located at 2100 West C.R. 42 in Burnsville.
Vicki Anderson, sales and marketing manager at Mattamy Homes in Minneapolis, said the blood drive – scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon – is being held in honor of Ellen Wollan, former sales representative at Mattamy Homes in the Twin Cities area who passed away in July after a two-year battle with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

“Throughout her illness, even during the most difficult days, Ellen maintained amazing strength, spirit and a sense of humor.  She was one of those people who lit up a room with her presence and laughter,” Anderson said.

Prior to her illness, Wollan was a prolific donor and a member of the “Ten-Gallon” blood donor club. During the last year of her illness she was the recipient of many transfusions, according to Anderson.

“Ellen was a dear friend and colleague who taught all of us a great lesson,” she added.

The Memorial Blood Centers Bloodmobile ( will be outfitted with equipment and supplies to handle the donations.  It’s an open donation that anyone can sign up for at, and then entering Sponsor Code, 3430.
