SAN DIEGO (February 28, 2011) Pardee Homes’ LivingSmart® Room at Brightwater gives homes shoppers an up-close, hands-on experience that shows off the many eco-friendly features and options available at this new neighborhood in Pacific Highlands Ranch. The LivingSmart® Room located in the Plan 2 model home is filled with informative displays and a look inside the homes’ infrastructure.

“We make the reality of earth-friendly features and options come to life in the Brightwater Demo Room,” said Joyce Mason, vice president of marketing for Pardee Homes.  “New homes today offer 30% more energy savings than homes built just five years ago, and that is due in part to many of the eco-friendly features that have been developed in recent years.  We invite home shoppers to actually see and touch some of the features and options that contribute to saving energy, reducing water usage and providing a healthier environment when they visit the LivingSmart Room.”

Inside the LivingSmart® Room at Brightwater, home shoppers can see components of the home that they may never have a glimpse of after it is completed, such as radiant barrier roof sheathing, engineered lumber used for framing and high performance low VOC attic insulation.  There are also informative descriptions and videos demonstrating some of the newest technologically advanced energy-efficient amenities that are available in a Pardee home, such as Low-E spectrally selective glass windows, LED lighting, Water Sense™ plumbing fixtures, a tankless water heater that provides on-demand water circulation, solar electric power system, and plush, stain-resistant carpeting made from recycled materials.

Like all new homes built by Pardee, Brightwater’s LivingSmart® package of standard and optional features increases energy-efficiency, saves water, provides healthier living, and adds up to a distinctive way of life—one that preserves the land and its precious resources while making the home environment more comfortable and efficient.  These new, spacious and sustainably built homes, offer four to five bedrooms, three to four baths, three-bay garages and approximately 2,827 to 3,432 square feet. Three floor plans are available, with pricing from the mid $800,000s.

All plans at Brightwater have formal entries, versatile lofts, a downstairs bedroom and gourmet kitchens with large preparation islands with granite countertops, cabinet recycling centers, convenient under cabinet task lighting, GE and GE Profile™ mix appliance packages in stainless steel and spacious food storage pantries.  Unique spaces per plan include a library in Plan 1; a versatile loft in Plan 2 and front-facing balcony in Plan 3.

Brightwater is sure to appeal to the move-up buyer seeking a traditionally styled, two-story home built in a great neighborhood that includes highly rated schools, nearby shopping, services and easy access to all of San Diego.  Located in coastal-close Pacific Highlands Ranch, Brightwater offers residents access to the beautiful, resort-style Pacific Highlands Ranch recreation center and backyard views of the adjacent open space reserve.  The neighborhood is served by schools in the highly rated Solana Beach School District and San Dieguito Union High School District.

Established in 1921, Pardee Homes is active in California’s San Diego, Inland Empire and Los Angeles/Ventura markets, and in Las Vegas.  The company emphasizes master-planned communities that include schools, parks and open space, and is noted for quality construction, customer service and dedication to the educational and civic goals of the communities in which it builds.
