Final Rowhomes at Courthouse Square
Sales are underway for the final seven rowhomes at Courthouse Square in downtown Wheaton. Airhart Construction announced that it will close the final chapter to complete the 43 Georgian-style luxury rowhome community. These final seven rowhomes face Washington Street and offer all-new designs with flexible two- to three-bedroom configurations providing a low maintenance lifestyle ideally suited for people on the go.
“Courthouse Square is successful because our homeowners truly enjoy living close to the action in downtown Wheaton. They want a custom luxury home with a walk-to-everything location,” said Court Airhart, president of Airhart Construction. “Everything you could possibly want is within walking distance: several local coffee houses and a large variety of restaurants; the Illinois Prairie Path, Wheaton Public Library and Adams Park and the Metra station at Front Street.”
Courthouse Square is located on the south side of the tracks; steps from the 61-mile Illinois Prairie Path and the weekly outdoor French Market at North Main and Liberty Streets featuring produce, arts & crafts,  flowers and food from local businesses. Nearby Memorial Park is home to the Wheaton Municipal Band’s weekly summer concert series on Thursdays, Music Mondays, Taste of Wheaton, Ice Fest, Shakespeare in the Park and the Wheaton Brew Fest.
Wheaton was ranked among the top 12 suburbs by Chicago Magazine in its most recent Best Places to Live study. Wheaton was also ranked among Top Walkable Cities in the Chicago area in 2014 in a George Washington University School of Business Study:  “Foot Traffic Ahead: Walkable Urbanism in America’s Largest Metros.” For the past 29 years the National Arbor Day Foundation has named Wheaton in its Tree City USA listing (1986-2015).
Courthouse Square offers a special living environment both inside and out. Interiors feature nine-foot ceilings on all levels, mill-made staircases, custom furniture-grade cabinetry, spectacular kitchens with expansive islands, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring and a second level laundry.
“These are brand new floor plans that are much different than the previous phases,” said Christy Whelan, sales manager for Airhart Construction. “One of the features that makes these last homes unique is the private front yard that has a 36-48” high brick wall graced with decorative stone caps. This gated area provides a nice private gathering space.”
On the garden level is the two-car garage and a spacious room with large daylight windows that looks out onto a private courtyard. This room could be used as a home office, media room or a second family room.  The main level living area offers an open floor plan concept providing many design choices for the kitchen, Great Room (with gas fireplace), dining room and powder room. This level even has a grilling balcony, not available in the earlier phases.
The third level provides a master bedroom, walk-in closet, laundry and secondary bedroom and bath. There is a loft space that could be used as a home office or converted into a third bedroom. As with the other levels of the home, the bedroom spaces can be configured to suit the homeowner’s needs with two master bedroom suites, for example.
All Courthouse Square homes include a rough-in for an elevator that can be installed now or framed as closets and planned for easy future conversion. The elevators at Courthouse Square can fit several people or a wheelchair and another person comfortably. Wood paneling is included throughout as is a phone and choice of flooring.
Courthouse Square exterior facades are all-brick with limestone accenting. The driveways, walkways and private patios are paver brick and the landscaping is extensive.
Construction will commence early spring for 2017 occupancies. Courthouse Square Phase Five Rowhomes include over 2,400 square feet of living space and are priced from the upper $500s.
Other perks to being a resident include access to the property’s desirable shared facilities, such as the community center building, which was formerly the campus’ States Attorney’s Office Building. Aside from housing professional office space, this facility provides shared resident amenities such as a fitness center, outdoor lap pool and a fully furnished hospitality suite complete with a gourmet kitchen for parties and meetings. Courthouse Square’s homeowners are able to enjoy these benefits as soon as they move in.
Airhart Construction also has only two Blanchard model rowhomes from Phase 4 left available and they will be available early next year. One Blanchard that will be ready for move-in January, 2017, has three bedrooms and three and one-half baths and is located at 359 East Liberty Ave. Featuring 3,200 square feet, this rowhome has a rooftop terrace and lushly landscaped courtyard and a rough-in for a fourth bath on the lower level.
To visit and tour the furnished model take I-88 west to Naperville Road, head north to Liberty Street, and proceed to the model/sales office at 341 E. Liberty Dr. (located a few blocks north of Roosevelt Road/Rt. 38). Hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays (and at other times by appointment).
