Everyone is invited to get a taste of paradise on Saturday, June 27th, as Shea Homes celebrates the grand opening of two new neighborhoods, Reflections and Boardwalk at RiverPark in Oxnard, with a fun-filled, tropical-themed luau from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Highlighting the event will be traditional music by a live Polynesian band and a full luau show featuring authentic hula dancers and a fire dancer. Guests will also enjoy delicious Pacific island cuisine, including pineapple papaya chicken with sweet glaze, pulled slow-roasted pork with Hawaiian barbecue sauce and mahi mahi with citrus butter. For dessert, there'll be island bananas and rum with vanilla ice cream and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.

“Come and say 'Aloha' to Reflections and Boardwalk and tour their stylishly decorated model homes,” urged Heather Stevenson, vice president of sales and marketing for Shea Homes Southern California. “You'll discover great home designs that make a highly desirable RiverPark address attainable for a broad spectrum of buyers.”

The Reflections models showcase uniquely designed two-story attached homes that are a perfect fit for the lifestyles and budgets of first-time home buyers. Living areas measure approximately 1,338 to 1,475 square feet, including two to four bedrooms and two and one-half baths plus a two-car garage. Varying plans feature a versatile loft or a gourmet kitchen island, and every residence is enhanced by fine appointments, including granite kitchen countertops and mocha-stained hardwood cabinets. Prices are anticipated to start in the high $200,000s.

At Boardwalk, the models will reveal spacious two-story residences that are ideal for young families. With prices anticipated to begin in the low $300,000s, the homes extend from approximately 1,800 to 2,124 square feet and encompass three to five bedrooms and two and one-half baths, and varying plans take on the added dimension of a master-suite retreat, bonus room, upstairs family room or home office. Touches of luxury extend throughout the homes, from granite kitchen countertops to stainless steel appliances.

Both Reflections and Boardwalk are conveniently located within walking distance of RiverPark's extensive array of community amenities, which allow residents to simplify their lives. Eight inviting parks offer recreation opportunities ranging from tennis and basketball courts to children's playgrounds. It's also just a short walk or bike ride to two brand-new, state-of-the-art educationial campuses, Rio Del Mar Elementary School and Rio Vista Middle School. And the community's vibrant town center, The Collection at RiverPark, will encompass approximately 600,000 square feet of lifestyle retailers, restaurants and entertainment, including the area's first Whole Foods Market, a two-story REI and a 16-screen Century Theaters complex, when it opens in fall 2010.

Reflections and Boardwalk join Shea Homes' Meridian at RiverPark, where two-story attached homes,   all of which are end units, range from approximately 1,301 to 1,980 square feet, with three to four bedrooms, two to three baths and a side-by-side two-car garage. The highlight of most plans is an enclosed courtyard that extends living areas outdoors, while Plan One features two balconies for outdoor enjoyment. One plan features a downstairs bedroom and many homes offer driveways for added off-street parking or car-washing. Prices at Meridian begin in the high $200,000s.

To limbo down to Shea Homes' RiverPark luau and join in the Reflections and Boardwalk dual grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 27th, travel the Ventura Freeway (101), exit at Oxnard Boulevard, then drive north and follow the signs to the individual neighborhoods, which are open Saturday through Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. The Information Centers are closed on Thursday and Friday.
