SAN DIEGO (Sept. 9, 2013) – Results are in for the 2013 Growth Academic Performance Index (API), and Del Sur Elementary School is ranked No. 1 among all schools in the Poway Unified School District (PUSD), and No. 3 among all elementary schools countywide. The elementary school scored 972 on the statewide assessment, achieving the highest score in PUSD for the third time.

“The loyalty and dedication of the students, teachers, staff and parents make Del Sur Elementary the outstanding school that it is,” said Bill Ostrem, developer of San Diego community Del Sur where the school is located. “We couldn’t be more proud of them.”

Del Sur Elementary School’s API score is up 12 points this year, placing it in the No. 1 position in PUSD. In 2010 and 2012, the school tied for the top spot in the district. Also in 2012, Del Sur Elementary was the first school in PUSD history to have a grade level (fourth-grade) with 100 percent proficient testing on state exams. The number of students who perform at the advanced level continues to increase each year.
