OXNARD, CA – The appeal of being able to walk to major retail stores, popular restaurants and first-run movie theaters in a one-of-a-kind town center is accelerating new-home sales at the master-planned community of Riverpark in Oxnard.

The Collection at Riverpark is a 600,000-square-foot, open-air, specialty center located in the heart of the Riverpark community. Inspired by the beauty of the California coast and reflecting the unique atmosphere of the surrounding seaside communities, its eclectic, contemporary and sophisticated architecture provide the perfect setting to relax, enjoy and explore.

The Collection is much more than a shopping center; it’s an experience. Built around a village-like grid of retail streets, it offers a wide variety of emerging and established designer shops, fine dining establishments and signature entertainment venues. Tree-lined streets, lush but water-wise landscaping, playful fountains, pocket parks, outdoor seating areas, plazas and paseos all work together to create a classic but casual environment.

Within The Collection, residents of Riverpark and surrounding communities will discover a fresh mix of specialty stores, led by Ventura County’s first Whole Foods market, which is slated to open in the spring. Joining the shopping and dining choices are Target, which is already open, as well as Menchies Frozen Yogurt, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Panera Bread, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, Massage Envy and Color Me Mine which are planning November openings. Early next year, they will be joined by Starbucks Coffee, Gandolfo’s Deli and REI. One of the most-anticipated attractions at The Collection is the multi-screen Century Theaters complex, which premiered its first films on October 26th.

The urban-style convenience of The Collection is proving to be a major draw for home buyers, who have the opportunity to find the home that perfectly fits their lifestyle at five Riverpark neighborhoods by two of America’s most highly regarded builders, Shea Homes and Standard Pacific Homes. Shea Homes is presenting Reflections and Boardwalk while Standard Pacific's neighborhoods include Waypointe, Pacific Crossing and The Avenue.

Reflections, which has attracted six new home buyers since the start of September, introduces uniquely designed two-story attached homes that are ideal for first-time home buyers. Living areas range from approximately 1,338 to 1,475 square feet, including two to four bedrooms and two and one-half baths plus a covered porch or balcony and a two-car garage. Varying plans feature a versatile loft or a gourmet kitchen island, and every residence is enhanced by fine appointments, including granite kitchen countertops, stainless steel appliances and European Thermafoil cabinets in a choice of three colors. Prices start in the low $200,000s.

At Boardwalk, where a new phase has just been released to keep pace with demand created by five sales since the beginning of September, spacious two-story courtyard residences are designed with young families in mind. With prices beginning in the high $200,000s the homes extend from approximately 1,800 to 2,124 square feet and encompass three to five bedrooms and two and one-half baths. Varying plans take on the added dimension of a master-suite retreat, bonus room or secluded study. Touches of luxury extend throughout the homes, from granite kitchen countertops and stainless steel appliances to sleek mirrored wardrobe doors in secondary bedrooms and a laundry room with utility sink.

Waypointe is a charming collection of paired homes that encompass approximately 1,388 to 1,864 square feet of stylish living area plus a two-car garage. With six floor plans to choose from, Waypointe is sure to meet the needs of just about any family. Featuring up to three bedrooms, three and one-half baths and private decks, the residences are priced from the upper $200,000s.

Pacific Crossing, which has just introduced a new phase, is the only Riverpark neighborhood that offers the added privacy of a detached residence, and that privacy is attainable with prices beginning in the $300,000s. With up to approximately 2,097 square feet, four bedrooms and three and one-half baths, these lovely courtyard-style single-family homes feature private courtyards, open floor plans and gourmet kitchens. Plans 2 and 3 offer an optional fourth bedroom with a bathroom and kitchenette which is an ideal living space for an extended family member.

The Avenue presents impressively spacious townhomes ranging from approximately 2,137 to 2,327 square feet with two to four bedrooms and two or three baths plus a two-car attached garage. Spacious great rooms accommodate everyday living and casual entertaining. Both Plan1 and 2 feature a secondary master suite on the first floor. And a secluded loft with adjoining alcove gives Plan 2 a great study area for kids. Prices start in the $300,000s.

In addition to their proximity to The Collection, all of these neighborhoods are conveniently located within walking distance of an array of community amenities, including inviting parks that offer recreation opportunities ranging from tennis and basketball courts to children's playgrounds. It's also just a short walk or bike ride to the brand-new campuses of Rio Del Mar Elementary School and Rio Vista Middle School, which offer students the latest technology for educational achievement. Every child has their own computer as well as access to a state-of-the-art library and multipurpose rooms equipped with high-tech sound systems.

As an added benefit for Riverpark residents, cool ocean breezes waft in off the Pacific, providing a refreshing year-round environment and a constant reminder that Oxnard's seven miles of white sandy beaches and Channel Islands Harbor are just a short drive from Riverpark.

Riverpark is being developed by Shea Homes and Standard Pacific Homes, working in concert with the city of Oxnard and other public entities.

The Riverpark builders -- each award winners in their own right -- have created architectural designs that encourage neighborly interaction and socializing. The builders’ accolades include “Builder of The Year” by Professional Builder magazine, “America’s Most Admired Companies” by Fortune magazine, and “America’s Best Big Companies” by Forbes magazine.

Riverpark was awarded the Comprehensive Planning Award from the California Central Coast Chapter of the American Planning Association. The plan employs significant elements of “Smart Growth” design by developing the human and natural environment to improve neighborhood livability.
