UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. – While the snow fell, the wind howled and hundreds of thousands of New Jersey residents dug out their cars during a recent snowstorm, residents of The Club at Autumn Ridge sat inside their living rooms sipping coffee. Later in the day, they painted in watercolors and took an exercise class while others struggled to clear their driveways and sidewalks.

Residents of The Club at Autumn Ridge, an active adult rental community in Union Township, say winter is the time they most appreciate living there. Not only do they not have to worry about icy sidewalks and frozen water pipes, they have a full slate of activities available to them, even in bad weather. Movie nights, afternoon tea, card games and karaoke nights are just a few of the activities residents participate in every week. They say the activities are especially convenient for those times when they feel like doing something, but don’t feel like going out.

“The social and recreational activities are diverse and incredibly convenient for residents because they only have to walk a few steps to the clubhouse,” said Lisa Macchi, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Millennium Homes, the Livingston-based Developer of The Club at Autumn Ridge. “This is especially important in the winter. When everyone else is snowed-in, our staff shovels you a path to the clubhouse, where there is always something fun for residents to do.”

The Club at Autumn Ridge is a one-of-a-kind collection of 154 rental units. The popular active adult community offers residents who are 48 and better a maintenance-free, resort-like lifestyle. Located in the heart of Union Township, the community offers easy access to downtown shopping and dining as well as access to The Garden State Parkway, Route 78, Route 24 and Route 22. A variety of mass transit options are also available, including trains to Newark and New York from the Union train station. The shopping of downtown Westfield and The Short Hills Mall are just a 15-minute drive away, as are the cultural destinations of The Paper Mill Playhouse and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Rentals at The Club at Autumn Ridge are available in three distinctive layouts ranging from 795 to 1,305 square feet of living space. Each plan offers one or two bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, living and dining areas, ample closet space and a private balcony or patio (per plan). Some homes include garages. Monthly rents start at an affordable $1,450.

The clubhouse at The Club at Autumn Ridge features a full-time activities director, heated outdoor pool, club room, cyber library and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Many residents are there every day, participating in everything from scrabble games to exercise classes to book discussions. Others like to show up for the monthly bingo and pizza parties and karaoke nights.

“The amenity-rich lifestyle residents enjoy really distinguishes The Club at Autumn Ridge from other active adult rentals,” Ms. Macchi said. “It all adds up to a resort-like environment that is typically only found in luxury “for sale” communities.”
